The Surrogacy and New Families Department has extensive experience in advising and accompanying individuals and families in surrogacy processes, drafting cohabitation and joint parenting agreements, legal regulation of new families, and advising LGBTQ families. Therefore, we like to call ourselves the New Families Department!

Head of the department, adv. Ayelet Tresser-Awes, has for decades been representing surrogates, and would-be-parents in surrogacy processes in Israel, whether before the Ministry of Health’s Board for Approval of Surrogacy Agreements, or by providing all the necessary legal assistance in drafting the surrogacy agreement.

In addition, adv. Ayelet Tresser-Awes represents would-be-parents, individuals and couples in surrogacy processes abroad, mainly in the US and Canada.

Adv. Ayelet Tresser-Awes has accumulated vast experience in working with fertility clinics, surrogacy agencies in Israel and abroad, and with lawyers in countries where the process takes place, as well as with the relevant authorities in Israel. Adv. Ayelet Tresser-Awes works in close cooperation with these entities in order to help make the process as convenient as possible for her clients.

In the scope of the legal regulation of non-biological parent’s status, adv. Ayelet Tresser-Awes handles parenting orders and adoption orders, with acute understanding of the gaps existing between the familial status and the legal states, and the need to bridge them. 

The department also assists couples and parents in drafting cohabitation agreements, adjusting the terms to the dynamic character of couples’ lives.
